All Aboard!

After a day in the city, I took the train back up to the cabin. What a ride!

Here I am at the Amtrak Station in Emeryville, which is just outside of Oakland. I took a bus from the city over to the station.

Here comes my train – the Zephyr #6. It goes all the way from the Bay Area to Chicago and back again.

I picked a good seat.

After the train started down the track, I roamed the different cars. There was a coach car, dining car, sleeper car, and the lounge car - where I am in this photo. The whole car was for sight seeing.

The train went by the Sacramento River down in the valley. I had really great views the whole way to Tahoe.

It was beautiful.

Right before we got to into the Tahoe area, I saw Donner Lake. There were so many different boats cruising around.

When I got off the train in Truckee, my Kiki was there to pick me up!

A Cozy Night In.

After a long and gloomy day at the lake, a cozy night in was just what I needed. Mimi, Kiki, Sarah, and I cuddled up for sangrias, baseball, and a friendly game of Scrabble.

The evening started off with a game of Scrabble. I spelled the word "Zarf", for 48 points! (it's a metal cup to hold coffee? - thanks, Scrabble Dictionary).

Om nom nom... homemade sangria.

I sipped my sangria couch-side during the Giants game.

Mimi made a cobb salad for dinner... unfortunately, no carrots.

Do you think my bunny butt is as nice as Zito's? Oh, and Giants win, 6 to 3.

I Love Lucy.

I met Mimi’s horse, Lucy for the first time today. When we arrived in Santa Barbara, we went straight to the Earl Warren Show Grounds. Mimi had a lesson on Lucy, and then Mimi/Kiki and I went on an adventure around the town.

We said hello. It was either this... or sniffing her butt.

Before Mimi got on for her lesson, she let me hop on! SO HIGH UP!

This one was more my size.

After Mimi's lesson, we headed out to State Street in Downtown Santa Barbara. I made a friend - his name was ALSO Bunny!

While walking around the docks, we saw the fishermen pulling in their catch - Sea Urchins! Some guy picked one up, cracked it open, and slurped all the goop out. YEHCK!

We walked along the beach near the marina... I failed to see the warning.

“Velkommen!” Mimi, Kiki, and I hit the road this morning for a horse show in Santa Barbara. We stopped along the way in Solvang, which is the first established Danish community in America. My Great Grandmother, Aggie Poulsen, was from Denmark. I’d like to share my Danish experience with you!

Giants vs. Diamondbacks – Giants win 5 to 2.

My favorite, B-Dubb Wilson, kept my ninja-self on the edge of my seat during the bottom of the 9th. With Giants in 1st Place, I thought I’d dress up to honor the bearded man himself… I look damn good.

I can smell a run from a carrot patch away.

Chuck Norris has been known to throw a baseball 100 mph. I've been known to throw Chuck Norris 100 mph.

There's just so much awesome on my face. Can you handle it?

I'm a certified ninja. It happend in a dream. Normally it takes a lifetime, but I did it in twelve minutes.

My day started off with a drive to Donner Lake. Here, I stopped at the Donner Memorial State Park, where I saw the Pioneer Monument. This monument represents the snow level during that winter of 1846. The Donner families were trapped here without shelter or supplies, and many members of the group resorted to cannibalism to survive… icky!!!

The day finished off with an epic off-road Jeep adventure in my friend Barbie’s ride. She was too scared to attempt the rugged terrain, so I dove in flying solo.

I get to go back to Tahoe! Yesssss. Can’t believe it’s been a year since my last visit. I made the long 14 hour drive once again, with Mimi and her Mommy. We broke the drive up a bit by spending a night in Palm Springs, California. It’s about 4 hours from Scottsdale, so it wasn’t that far for us. We spent the day shopping, eating, and bonding (with dinosaurs).
