Just can’t wait to get on the road again. Goin’ places that I’ve never been. Seein’ things that I may never see againAnd I can’t wait to get on the road again. On the road again – Like a band of gypsies we go down the highway We’re the best of friends. Insisting that the world keep turning our wayAnd our way is on the road again. Just can’t wait to get on the road again. The life I love is makin’ music with my friends And I can’t wait to get on the road again”.
– Willie Nelson
So here I go, on the road again. After two nights at Nanna’s, we packed up and headed North up the coast to visit my Mommy’s brother, Benny in Seattle.
When we arrived in Seattle, Ben took us to the Ballard Locks.
These locks move boats from Puget Sound to the water level of the lakes, and vice versa.
At the locks, there was a fish ladder, which allows salmon to pass between fresh water and salt water.
After the locks, we went to a fish bar in Ballard called Rays.
So we began… our long, 14 hour drive from Phoenix, Arizona to Lake Tahoe, California. The best part of the drive was the long stretch up 395 – there were so many photo opportunities! I have never seen such large mountains before, the sites were beautiful! Here are a few of the things I saw along the way.
In Lone Pine, Smokey told me that only I could prevent forest fires... can you find me?
Here I am on the backside of Kings Canyon National Park.
Mommy let me drive to Bishop.
I rode a pony at Schat's Bakery in Bishop. Best turkey sandwiches in the West!
I was an honorary ranger in Bridgeport. Almost to the lake!
Finally! We arrived at the cabin around 9pm... it was way past my bedtime.
